The short answer is that there's no built-in feature on the iPhone that allows you to see your WiFi password. However, you can check the password through the router settings or by using iCloud Keychain on a Mac.

There are many reasons why you might need to access your WiFi password. Perhaps you need to share it with someone else, or you want to log into the WiFi network on an Android device. The latter was the case for me, and on seeing that iPhone didn't give me an easy way to do it, I put my tech expertise to the test, until I found two great options.

I'm going to share everything I found out with you, so you can figure out how to see WiFi password on iPhone without much hassle. Let's get right into it.

How to Check Your WiFi Password on iPhone?

To view saved WiFi passwords, you'll need to either check through the iCloud Keychain or by using the settings page for the WiFi router. A jailbroken iPhone provides some other options, however.

How to Check Password with WiFi Network Router?

Accessing the WiFi network settings page for the router is probably the easiest way to find the WiFi password that you're looking for.

Follow these steps to get this done:

Connect your iPhone to the WiFi network whose password you're trying to get.
Go to the "Settings" app.
Select "WiFi".
You should see the name of the WiFi network that you're connected to. Tap the "i" icon at the right side of the entry.
This will bring up information about the WiFi network.
You're looking for the IP address for the WiFi router in particular, which you will see beside the "Router" entry on this screen.
Note this IP address down somewhere, or hold down on it and copy it.
Go to Safari on your iPhone.
Paste the IP address in the address bar of the browser and press Enter. This should take you to the settings for the router.
You will be asked to enter a username and password. If you are unsure of what these are, you can search for the default password and username of the WiFi router model you have by checking under or behind it for a little sticker with those details. Also check the manual for your router model, to see if it hasn't been changed.
This will bring you into the settings app for the WiFi router. The steps here will differ depending on the exact router, but you should be able to find the password for your WiFi networks on any page that has the properties or name of the network.
If you find WiFi password here, you can note it down and enter it on any of your devices. That's it!

How to See Your Saved WiFi Passwords on iCloud Keychain?

Let's say you couldn't find WiFi password on iPhone using the above method, you can try iCloud Keychain, Apple's password manager.

If you have a Mac computer, then using iCloud Keychain should be the solution you're looking for to locate that WiFi password.

You will need to ensure that iCloud Keychain is enabled on your iPhone for this to work. You can do this by going into "Settings", "iCloud", and then "Keychain". Enable the toggle if it is disabled.
Note that it may take a bit of time for your data to be uploaded to your iCloud account if you're providing Keychain access for the first time.
On your Mac computer, open the Apple menu.
Tap on "System Preferences".
Select "iCloud".
If the Mac is not signed in to the same iCloud account as the iPhone, you will need to log in at this point. Otherwise, you can continue to the next step.
You should see a "Keychain" option. Check the box next to it to enable it. The syncing process may take some time as it moves the data, including your iPhone WiFi passwords.
Now at this point of retrieving your WiFi password, you will need to launch the Keychain Access application on your Mac. You can do this by opening Spotlight search (Command and Space are a shortcut for this) and typing "Keychain Access" in the search box. Press Enter to open the application.
To find WiFi password in this program, click on the search box and type in the name of the network whose WiFi password you're trying to retrieve. Double-click the network from the list.
Now, you should have a window with the properties of that network.
At the bottom of this window, check the box beside "Show password".
Just like that, you should now see the WiFi password. Write it down somewhere if you need it again in the future, or just use this method!

How to View Saved WiFi Password on iPhone with Cydia?

If you use a jailbroken iPhone with Cydia, you have the option of bypassing the limitations of iOS and downloading an app that will let you see any saved WiFi password. These methods will not work on a non-jailbroken iPhone.

There are two reliable apps that will allow you to view your WiFi password on iPhone.

Using WiFi Password

Open the "Cydia" app.
Search for "WiFi Password" and select it from the search results.
Tap "Install".
Once it has finished installing, select "Return to Cydia", and then press the Home button.
You can now go to your home screen and launch the WiFi password application.
You will now be able to view any saved WiFi password that has been used on that iPhone before.

Using NetworkList

NetworkList is built directly into the settings of the jailbroken iPhone, and not as a standalone app, which I find more convenient.

Open "Cydia".
Search for "NetworkList" and tap it.
Press "Install" to begin the process.
Once complete, press "Restart Springboard" to refresh the home screen.
You can now open the Settings app.
Select "WLAN".
Select "Known Networks".
Now, when you scroll through this list, you will see all the saved WiFi networks and every WiFi network password on your iPhone.

How to Find WiFi Password for Personal Hotspot?

If you use your iPhone as a personal hotspot to share WiFi with other devices, you may want to find what the WiFi password for that is instead.

Fortunately, if this is the case, it's a lot easier to find WiFi password.

Go to "Settings".
Select "Personal Hotspot".
Turn on your hotspot using the switch.
Once on, you will be able to see your password beside the "WiFi Password" entry.
Additionally, you can tap the "WiFi Password" option to edit the password to something else.

How to Share WiFi Passwords Between Apple Devices?

If you need your password to enter it on another Apple device, then there's an easy way to share a WiFi password on iPhone.

However, note that to share iPhone WiFi passwords, the iPhone or iPad needs to be on at least iOS 11 and in the case of a Mac, macOS High Sierra. To do this, you must also have the Apple ID of the device you're trying to share the WiFi password to in your contacts.

Turn on Bluetooth on both devices.
Ensure that the Apple devices are within Bluetooth range of each other.
Now, on the iPhone that you're trying to share the password with, have it connect to the WiFi network.
The network will request the WiFi password but don't enter anything.
On the iPhone that is already connected, you should see a window popup. Press the "Share Password" button.
This will automatically connect the other iPhone to the network without it having to enter the WiFi password.

While Apple does not give you an option to view your WiFi passwords directly from the iPhone, you can still view any WiFi passwords saved as long as you have the router's IP address and access to the wireless settings page. You can also make use of Keychain and a Mac to see WiFi passwords. You can view your hotspot password on iPhone easily though.

Apple also gives you the cool option of being able to share WiFi passwords between trusted Apple devices, which is really convenient.
